So, you wanted to talk to me again, eh? This is really heating up into quite the dialogue!
PAUL
I’m glad you’re willing to talk to me.
SAM
As am I.
You’re not bad, kid. You’re not bad at all. We can make something work of this.
I’ll tell you what. Let’s talk about intuition.
PAUL
Okay, tell me all about it.
SAM
Man is an animal — let’s start with that much. Animals have what? Intuition and feeling. They’re flying around, detecting the magnetosphere. Deer migrating when the seasons change. Stuff like that.
Man, or humanity if we want to be all PC about it, also has intuition. Our intuition runs deep within us - it is a river within which we can plant deep roots, and grow.
[PAUL nods head.]
SAM
Heh, you want me to get to the point, do you? Well, here it is: humans are creatures of intuition, that have been divorced, cut off, from ourselves by the nature of society, rules, order, time, economics, hey Jim I need that copy on my desk by 9:30 Monday got that? We have evolved to be hollow versions of our true natures.
So, you might ask, is the answer to have no society at all?
