is man an accident?
perhaps,
but is man of every potential?
can man rise to his station?
to hear the call of his day,
and fulfill his duty?
undoubtedly, then
your duty is to find
within yourself
a man, despite the flaws,
to be cherished and beloved,
part by virtue of
the breath he breathes
the blood in his veins
the life he holds!
and in that life,
what modernity cannot strip away:
sanctity.
Life, which you hold -
(do you breathe any less than them?)
- is dignified by its being,
but honoured by the action,
for with this life, what will you do?
will you dispose it, and steal the world a flame?
will you hoard it, and suffocate by self-interest?
will you share it, and peel past the darkness,
a new, small sun
which lights the other wicks?
Beyond worth,
you have potential beyond your recognition.
See this, and the world will see again.
